Some days are stressful.  It’s interesting how it can start with just one stressful situation and snowball from there.  Say the traffic is bad, or the metro is crowded, or the bus makes you late for work.  Whatever it is, that stress builds.  You have this low level of stressful irritation, and then another layer is added.  Someone at work really gets on your nerves, or a project isn’t going smoothly.  Now you’ve got a second layer of stress on top of the first layer.  Your stress is steadily rising.  By the end of the day, you could be really stressed-out.  Just sick or everything, and sometimes everybody.

Now is the time to utilize stress relief techniques.  Don’t carry that stress through your evening, or through your interactions with loved ones.  It’s very easy to carry it through, but make sure you don’t.

I use the stress relief techniques at Tranquility is Yours all the time.  My days are very stressful.  People get on my nerves.  Transportation is irritating.  I use aromatherapy to help me release the stresses of the day. I have lavender scents in several rooms to help me relax and let go. Lavender is a wonderful stress relieving scent.  I use candles and table top water fountains to make my room relaxing and serene.  And I do the relaxation exercises on this page, especially the last exercise to release the stress knots that build in my neck and shoulders after being on the computer all day.

Find your inner peace.  Make a conscience effort to get the stress of the day out of your way once you get home.  Don’t store it.  Don’t keep it. Don’t share it.  Don’t let stress rob you of the joy you should be experiencing in life.  If you don’t manage your stress, stress will manage you.  Which do you prefer?  Take charge, and get the stress out of your life.

Toxic people can bring a lot of stress into your life.  You know the type:  The people who always have some drama going on and they look for people to pull along.  How about those individuals who seem to have a dark cloud of doom and gloom over them?  Everything upsets them, everyone is against them, and whenever they come around you, their infamous dark cloud is large enough for both of you.  How about that toxic boss who brings so much stress to the workday that you dread getting out of bed in the morning.  Do you have toxic people bringing stress into your life?

Focus on stress relief by working on minimizing the impact of toxic people in your life.  Work on decreasing your contact with anyone who drains or stresses you.  It’s simply not worth it.  Some people thrive on d rama, so they will always have stressful scenarios swirling around them.  Take a step back and really think about who those people are, and then sweep their drama out of your life.  If you can’t completely get away from their toxic behavior, make it very clear that you will no longer be a participant.  You may not be able to quit your job to get away from your toxic boss, but you can find ways to limit your dealings.

Drop toxic people like a hot potato!  They will selfishly drain you and raise your stress levels. Don’t give them the opportunity.  You have to manage your own stress, but you don’t have to manage theirs too.

Remember feeling like this image; literally drowning intranquilityisyourscom-signs-of-stress stress.  I say remember, because we have all had those moments when you feel completely taken over by a stressful scenario.  Learning how to relieve the stress of those moments is the key, and some stress relief solutions are not complicated at all.

One of the easiest ways to relieve stress is through aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is very easy to do, and the relief it can provide is close to amazing.  You can use candles, oils, incents, anything that produces a pleasing, relaxing scent to your sensibilities.  Candles and incents work “ok,” but for the best results use Essential Oils.  Nothing beats the power and impact of true Essential Oils.  If the product says “fragrance,” that’s not a true Essential Oil.  The pure scent of Essential Oils is incredibly soothing.  The favorite for stress relief is the lavender scent, but others can work just as well.  The key is using a diffuser.  You can enjoy the scent of the Essential Oils in a diffuser at its purest state, and unlike candles or incents, you can control the strength of the scent by putting in as little or as much of the Essential Oil as you desire.  I tend to go heavy on the oils in my diffuser.  The aroma permeates the room, lingers in the air, and eases stress by allowing your body to relax and let go.  It’s really fantastic. Give it a try if you’re looking for a fast, simple and highly effective way to relieve your stress.

Why use water fountains to relieve stress?  Table top water fountains offer the health benefits of relatranquilityisyourscom-bamboo-water-fountain2xation and stress relief, help to humidify the air, and rejuvenate you with the negative ions lost to our electronics-filled environments.  You may be amazed at how soothing water sounds can draw you in and help you feel relaxed after a long day.

Every sound has a frequency.  Some are pleasant, while others can be unpleasant.  When unpleasant noises are prolonged, they can take a toll on your overall well-being.  These sounds bombard you with stress, induce headaches, tension, and even sleep disorders.  Traffic sounds are a good example of unpleasant sounds, however white noise provides the opposite effect.  White noise covers a vast range of frequencies and produces a calming and neutral affect that overwhelms and masks bothersome sounds.  This leads to a reduction in stress levels, induces peace of mind, and an overall feeling of relaxation.  Water fountains produce white noise in the calming sounds of cascading, bubbling water.

Water fountains come in indoor and outdoor models, so you can enjoy peace and comfort in your bedroom, living room or on your patio.  Create your own stress-free environment.
